Tronno Triggerfish Training Report 14/07/2013

Today was one of those days where going to training was very easily not something you wanted to do willingly… it was the first true summer day which fell on the weekend with the mercury hitting a maximum of 29 degrees celcius. Yes yes to those antipodeans out there this is not a very hot day but Canadians have invented another way of expressing temperature… THE HUMIDEX!

From Wikipedia
The humidex (short for “humidity index”) is an index number used by Canadian meteorologists to describe how hot the weather feels to the average person, by combining the effect of heat and humidity

In other words its the heat equivalent of wind chill factor… Today’s humidex reading was 40 degrees!!!… stifling! :P… also made me very home sick none the less…

Coach Christi was absent and so as dutiful and committed as he is Coach Lawrence took competitive training.  A total number of 9 competitive triggers turned up… hrrmmm… however on the other side of the pool recreational and the guppies had an impressive amount of triggers training their heart out.  Coach Lawrence was on deck ready to literally whip the competitive side into shape… He was waving his noodle about yelling orders and drilling us hard with several laps of dribbling and ball skills…

This is an interpretive image of Coach Lawrence working his noodle 😉

Training then shifted focus to shooting. In particular we worked on being locked and loaded and then following through.  For some of us this proved more difficult to master than others… Then it was into 20 minutes of 5 on 5 scrimmage… ok, i don’t know if its just me but i know there shouldn’t be much difference in normal scrimmage compared to 5 on 5 scrimmage because its just minus one position but I found myself feeling like this the whole time…

Take home message from tonights training is with regards to passing into hole…

Everyone can learn from this 🙂

Finally the 1.5 hours came to an end and I can definitely say it was a decent workout…

This is how Coach Lawrence felt after delivering today’s training

How I felt…
